And He said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have persevered with God and with men, and have prevailed.

O Lord, I beseech You, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to fear Your name; and give Your servant success this day, and grant him mercy before this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

I love Jehovah, because He has heard my voice and my supplications.

The king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah; like rivers of water, He turns it wherever He pleases.

and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his household.

And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, lord? So he said to him, Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been summoned, has but one law: to put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Furthermore, I have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days.

And the king held out the golden scepter toward Esther. So Esther arose and stood before the king,
