And he commanded them, saying, This is what you shall do: One-third of you who come on the Sabbath shall be keeping watch over the king's house,

one-third shall be at the gate of Sur, and one-third at the gate behind the runners. You shall keep the watch of the house by turns.

And Jehovah said to me, This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter by it, because Jehovah the God of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut.

As for the prince, because he is the prince, he may sit in it to eat bread before Jehovah; he shall enter by way of the porch of the gate, and go out the same way.

And the prince shall enter by way of the porch of the gate from the outside, and stand by the gatepost. The priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings. He shall bow down at the threshold of the gate. Then he shall go out, but the gate shall not be shut until evening.

Likewise the people of the land shall bow down at the entrance to this gate before Jehovah on the Sabbaths and the new moons.

And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;
