And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out before him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, Should you help the wicked and love those hating Jehovah? Therefore wrath is upon you from before Jehovah.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold they are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, which is brought up in the book of the kings of Israel.

Then the Word of Jehovah came to Jehu the son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying:

Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

Blessed is he who has the Mighty God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and lean on horses and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are so very strong; but they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor do they seek Jehovah!

And a man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a shelter from the tempest, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a huge rock in a weary land.

Thus says Jehovah, Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart departs from Jehovah.

For he shall be destitute in the wilderness, and shall not see when good comes. But he shall live in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land that is not inhabited.

that we who previously trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

In whom also, after you heard the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also, believing, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Thus the sons of Israel were subdued at that time; and the sons of Judah prevailed, because they had trusted on Jehovah the God of their fathers.

Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him.

With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is Jehovah our God, to help us and to fight our battles. And the people were bolstered by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

He trusted in Jehovah the God of Israel, so that after him was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all who were with them were delivered into their hand, for they cried out unto God in the battle; and He was entreated for them, because they had trusted in Him.
