And Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king.

Solomon's son: Rehoboam; Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

And Solomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa.

And Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, to the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanites were then in the land.

And his brothers went to feed their father's flock in Shechem.

And Israel said to Joseph, Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come, I will send you to them. And he said to him, Here I am.

So they appointed Kedesh in Galilee, in the mountains of Naphtali, Shechem in the mountains of Ephraim, and Kirjath Arba (which is Hebron) in the mountains of Judah.

And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem and summoned the elders of Israel, their heads, their judges, and their officers; and they presented themselves before God.

Then Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem, to his mother's brothers, and spoke with them and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,

Thus King Solomon was king over all Israel.

All these men of war, who could keep ranks, came to Hebron with a perfect heart, to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
