Now there was long warfare between the house of Saul and the house of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.

And David went on and became great, and Jehovah the God of Hosts was with him.

Yet the righteous will take hold on his way, and he who has clean hands shall increase strength.

Of the increase of His government and peace upon the throne of David there will be no end; and upon His kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on, even forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will accomplish this.

Phinehas the son of Eleazar had been the ruler over them previously; and Jehovah was with him.

Take counsel and make plans, but they will be frustrated. Speak a word, but it shall not stand; for the Mighty God is with us.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will make you strong; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.

Fear not, you worm of Jacob and men of Israel; I will help you, says Jehovah and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
