And she said to her husband, Behold now, I know that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us continually.

Then the king sent to him a commander of fifty with his fifty. So he went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him: Man of God, the king has said, Come down!

Then he sent to him another commander of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said to him: Man of God, thus has the king said, Come down quickly!

Again, he sent a third commander of fifty with his fifty. And the third commander of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and implored him, and said to him: Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your eyes.

Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

So she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to bring my iniquity to remembrance, and to kill my son?

Now therefore, please forgive my sin only this once, and entreat Jehovah your God, that He may take away from me this death only.

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah.

they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.
