And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates.

In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho. He laid its foundation with Abiram his firstborn, and with his youngest son Segub he set up its gates, according to the Word of Jehovah, which He had spoken through Joshua the son of Nun.

And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

Then Elijah said to Elisha, Stay here, please, for Jehovah has sent me on to Bethel. But Elisha said, As Jehovah lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you! So they went down to Bethel.

And the mother of the boy said, As Jehovah lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So he arose and went after her.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

When he came and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.
