Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying: Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel!

O you sons of men, how long will you turn My glory into shame? Will you love vanity and seek after falsehood? Selah.

All who see Me mock Me; they shoot out the lip; they shake the head, saying,

He trusted on Jehovah; let Him deliver Him; let Him rescue Him, since He delights in Him!

Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails.

saying, God has forsaken him; pursue and take him, for there is no one to rescue him.

As the mountains are around Jerusalem, so Jehovah is around His people from this time forth and forever.

He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, I am the Son of God.

And the people stood looking on. Moreover the rulers with them sneered, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.

Therefore thus says Jehovah concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor build a siege mound against it.

For I have defended this city, to save it for My own sake and for My servant David's sake.
