Deuteronomy 20:1-4
1
When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for Jehovah your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
2
And it shall be, when you approach the battle, that the priest shall draw near and speak to the people.
3
And he shall say to them, Hear, O Israel: Today you are approaching battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble nor be terrified before them;
4
for Jehovah your God is He who is going before you, to engage your enemies in battle, to deliver you.
Deuteronomy 31:3-6

Jehovah your God Himself is crossing over before you; He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself is crossing over before you, as Jehovah has spoken.
4
And Jehovah will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them.
5
Jehovah will give them up before you, to do to them according to all the commandments which I have commanded you.
6
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for Jehovah your God, He is the One who is going with you. He will not abandon you nor forsake you.
Joshua 1:2-5

Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to them; to the children of Israel.

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon I have given to you, as I have said to Moses.

From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not abandon you nor forsake you.

Numbers 31:1-12

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying:

Execute vengeance on the Midianites for the children of Israel. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people.

And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves for war, and let them go against the Midianites to give vengeance from Jehovah upon Midian.

A thousand from each tribe of all the tribes of Israel you shall send to the war.

So there were assigned from the thousands of Israel one thousand from each tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

And Moses sent them to the war, one thousand from each tribe; he sent them to the war with Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, with the holy vessels and the signal trumpets in his hand.

And they warred against the Midianites, just as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and they killed all the males.
8
And they killed the kings of Midian with the rest of those who were killed; Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. Balaam the son of Beor they also killed with the sword.

And the sons of Israel took the women of Midian captive, with their little ones, and took as spoils all their cattle, all their flocks, and all their wealth.
10
They also burned with fire all the cities where they dwelt, and all their fortifications.
11
And they took all the spoils and all the booty; of man and beast.
12
And they brought the captives, the booty, and the spoils to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho.
Joshua 6:2-5

And Jehovah said to Joshua: Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.

You shall go around the city, all the men of war; you shall go all around the city once. Thus you shall do six days.
4
And seven priests shall bear seven shofars of rams' horns before the ark. And the seventh day you shall go around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the shofars.

And it shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the shofar, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.

And Jehovah said to Joshua: Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. Behold, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.

And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoils and its cattle you shall take as plunder for yourselves. Lay an ambush for the city behind it.

So Jehovah struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.

So it was, when the commanders of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel! Therefore they surrounded him to engage in battle; but Jehoshaphat cried out, and Jehovah helped him, and God drew them away from him.

And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying,

If evil comes upon us; sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine; we will stand before this house and before Your face (for Your name is in this house), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.

And now, behold, the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them and have not destroyed them.

Behold, they are rewarding us by coming to drive us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit.

O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.

Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, were standing before Jehovah.

O my God, bow down Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name. For we do not make our supplications before You on account of our righteousness, but because of Your great mercies.
