But the Word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the rulers of Judah, who were gathered together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus says Jehovah: You have forsaken Me, and therefore I also have forsaken you to the hand of Shishak.

And when Jehovah saw that they had humbled themselves, the Word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them a little deliverance. My wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

And behold, a man of God went from Judah to Bethel by the Word of Jehovah, and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.

So it came to pass when King Jeroboam heard the utterance of the man of God, who cried out against the altar in Bethel, that he stretched forth his hand from the altar, saying, Arrest him! And his hand, which he had stretched forth toward him, withered, so that he could not pull it back to himself.

The altar also was split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the Word of Jehovah.

Now an old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came and recounted to him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; they also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.

So she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to bring my iniquity to remembrance, and to kill my son?

Then the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the Word of Jehovah in your mouth is truth.

Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

And he said, At the appointed time according to the time of life you shall embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!

And she called to her husband, and said, Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come back.

So she departed, and went to the man of God at Mount Carmel. And so it was, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to his servant Gehazi, Behold, the Shunammite!

And when she came to the man of God at the hill, she took hold of his feet; and Gehazi came near to push her away; but the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is bitter, and Jehovah has hidden it from me, and has not told me.

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
