Nevertheless for David's sake Jehovah his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him to establish Jerusalem;

And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.

Now therefore, let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You; for You, O Lord Jehovah, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, You shall go out no more with us to battle, that you not quench the lamp of Israel.

Yet Jehovah would not destroy Judah, for the sake of his servant David, as He had promised him to give a lamp to him and his sons all their days.

Yet Jehovah would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that He had made with David, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.

There will I make the horn of David sprout; I have set in place a lamp for My anointed.

For thus says Jehovah, David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,

And the Word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, saying,

then also may My covenant with David My servant be broken, that he should not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites the priests, My ministers.

In that day I will raise up the covert of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old;

so that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations who are called by My name, declares Jehovah who does this.

and raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,

as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets since the world began,

through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;

to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up;

so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does all these things.

However I will not tear away the whole kingdom; I shall give one tribe to your son for the sake of my servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen.

And Jehovah said to him: I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built to put My name there always; and My eyes and My heart will be there all the days.

for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, and is in bondage with her children;

but the Jerusalem from above is free, which is the mother of us all.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the Heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable multitude of angels,

And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the Holy Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God,
