Thus Jehovah shall return his blood upon his own head, who has fallen upon two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, without the knowledge of my father David: Abner the son of Ner, the commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, the commander of the army of Judah.

A righteous man who totters before the wicked is like a fouled spring and a polluted well.

On account of this the law has become feeble, and justice does not continue to go forth. For the wicked surrounds the righteous, so justice goes forth, perverted.

Are You not from ancient times, Jehovah my God, my Holy One? We shall not die, Jehovah, for You have appointed them for judgment. And, my Rock, You have established them for correction.

not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.

And when Abner had returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him privately, and there stabbed him in the stomach, so that he died for the blood of Asahel his brother.

And I am weak today, though anointed king; and these men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too severe for me. Jehovah shall repay the evildoer according to his evil.

Surely the blood of your souls will I require; at the hand of every living thing will I require it, and at the hand of man. At the hand of every man's brother I will require the soul of man.

Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man.

He who strikes a man so that he dies shall be executed to death.

Moreover you shall take no ransom for the soul of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall be executed to death.

Thus you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood pollutes the land. And no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who sheds it.

When He investigates bloodshed, He forgets not the cry of the lowly.

So now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them along with the earth.

So He obliterated all living substance which was on the face of the ground: both man and animal, creeping thing and flying creatures of the heavens. They were obliterated from off the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark were left alive.

For if I had stretched forth My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, then you would have been cut off from the earth.

Let them be continually before Jehovah, that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and those who act deceitfully shall be rooted out of it.

So you shall say to them, The gods who have not made the heavens and the earth, they shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.
