and said to the judges, Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for Jehovah, who is with you in the words of judgment.

Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab and upon the head of his seed forever. But upon David and his seed, upon his house and his throne, there shall be peace forever from Jehovah.

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell upon him and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violence shall come down upon his own crown.

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their practices; give them according to the work of their hands; give back to them what they deserve.

Also to You, O Jehovah, belongs mercy; for You give to every man according to his work.
