And when Saul inquired of Jehovah, Jehovah did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets.

Will the Mighty God hear his cry when distress comes upon him?

Then they shall call upon me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you. Even though you multiply prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, Thus says the Lord Jehovah: Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

Then they shall cry out to Jehovah, but He will not answer them. He will even hide His face from them at that time, because they have done evil in their doings.

Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many works of power in Your name?

And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who work out lawlessness!

When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us, and He will answer and say to you, I do not know you, where you are from,

then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.
