Now David was sitting between the two gates. And the watchman went up to the roof over the gate, to the wall, lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was running alone.

and for a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

And David mustered the people who were with him, and appointed commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds over them.

And the rulers of the Philistines were passing over by the hundreds and thousands. And David and his men were passing over at the rear with Achish.
