He who strikes a man so that he dies shall be executed to death.

But if a man comes presumptuously against his neighbor, to kill him by deceit, you shall take him even from My altar, that he may die.

If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no blood shed for him.

If the sun has risen upon him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He shall make compensation to pay; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

and does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting to offer an offering unto Jehovah before the tabernacle of Jehovah, blood shall be imputed to that man. He has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people;

Any one who strikes the soul of a man shall be executed to death.

Thus the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the hand of the kinsman avenger of blood, and the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge where he had fled, and he shall remain there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.

Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two commanders of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner and Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed. And he shed the blood of war in peacetime, and put the blood of war on the belt around his waist, and on the sandals on his feet.

And the news came to Joab, for Joab had turned aside after Adonijah, though he had not turned aside after Absalom. So Joab fled to the tent of Jehovah, and took hold of the horns of the altar.

So Benaiah went to the tent of Jehovah, and said to him, Thus says the king, Come out! And he said, No, but I will die here. And Benaiah brought back word to the king, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.

Thus Jehovah shall return his blood upon his own head, who has fallen upon two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, without the knowledge of my father David: Abner the son of Ner, the commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, the commander of the army of Judah.

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell upon him and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

But Jesus said to him, Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.

For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the heavens, and over the beasts, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that moves on the earth.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.

Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done evil in Your sight; that You might be found just when You speak, and pure when You judge.

With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the image of God.
