So Jacob went down into Egypt; and he died, he and our fathers.

Then Jacob arose and set his sons and his wives on camels.

And he drove away all his livestock and all his possessions which he had gained, his acquired livestock which he had gained in Paddan, to go to his father Isaac in the land of Canaan.

Now you are commanded; do this: Take wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives; bring your father and come.

And the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the mouth of Pharaoh, and he gave them provisions for the journey.

But when they told him all the words which Joseph had spoken to them, and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived.

And Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, Go, serve Jehovah; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go with you.

Our livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For we must take some of them to serve Jehovah our God, and even we do not know with what we must serve Jehovah until we arrive there.
