And Israel said to Joseph, Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come, I will send you to them. And he said to him, Here I am.

And he said to him, Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with the flocks, and bring back word to me. So he sent him out of the valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.

And he recognized it and said, It is my son's tunic. An evil beast has devoured him. Joseph has been rent and torn to pieces.

And Jacob their father said to them, You have bereaved me: Joseph is not, Simeon is not, and you would take Benjamin. All these things are against me.

But he said, My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any harm should befall him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my gray hair in sorrow to Sheol.
