and the seven years of famine began to come, as Joseph had said. And the famine was in all lands, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

And all earth came to Joseph in Egypt to buy, because the famine was severe in all the earth.

But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.

And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down to that place and buy for us from there, that we may live and not die.

And Jehovah said to Joshua: Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face?
