And they said, Should he treat our sister like a harlot?

But his concubine committed adultery against him, and went away from him to her father's house at Bethlehem in Judah, and was there four months of days.

and I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands like fetters. Whoever pleases God shall escape from her, but the sinner shall be captured by her.

For long ago you broke your yoke and tore apart your bonds; and you said, I will not transgress, when on every high hill and under every green tree you lay down like a harlot.

But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is married to a husband.

Now therefore, restore the man's wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall die the death, you and all who are yours.

And Abimelech summoned Abraham and said to him, What have you done to us? How have I offended you, that you have brought upon me and upon my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done.

The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall be executed to death.

The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by committing harlotry, she profanes her father. She shall be burned with fire.

then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel, to commit harlotry in her father's house. Thus you shall put away the evil from among you.

If a young woman who is a virgin is betrothed to a man, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,

But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the field, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die.

for he had found her in the field, and the betrothed young woman had cried out, but there was no one to deliver her.

Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall the sons be put to death for their fathers; every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

And David's anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, As Jehovah lives, the man who has done this is a son of death!

And Nathan said to David, You are the man! Thus says Jehovah the God of Israel: I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.

And a curse shall be taken up about them by all the captives of Judah who are in Babylon, saying, May Jehovah make you like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire,

because they have done disgraceful things in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives, and have spoken lying words in My name, which I have not commanded them; for I am He who knows and is a witness, says Jehovah.

Judge not, that you be not judged.

And why do you look at the twig in your brother's eye, but do not consider the beam in your own eye?

Hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the twig from your brother's eye.

Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judges, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth upon those who practice such things.

Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.
