These were the sons of Seir the Horite who dwelt in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

and the Horites in their mountains of Seir, as far as El Paran, which is by the wilderness.

And Jacob sent messengers before his face to Esau his brother in the land of Seir, the land of Edom.

Do not strive with them, for I am not giving you any of their land, no, not even one treading place for the souls of your feet, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.

To Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. To Esau I gave the mountains of Seir to possess, but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.

Now some of them, five hundred men of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, with Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi as their heads.

And now, behold, the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them and have not destroyed them.

For the sons of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it,

I shall lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate. And you shall know that I am Jehovah.

therefore, as I live, declares the Lord Jehovah, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you. Since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.

and I have hated Esau and have made his mountains and his inheritance a desolation for the jackals of the wilderness.
