For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his house after him, that they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice, that Jehovah may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken to him.

And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers have served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know evil.

My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in a perfect way shall serve me.

And Laban had gone to shear his sheep, and Rachel had stolen the household idols that were her father's.

Now Rachel had taken the household idols, put them in the camel's saddle, and sat on them. And Laban groped all about the tent but did not find them.

You shall have no other gods before Me.

and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of Jehovah your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.

They provoked Him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they provoked Him to anger.

and that you not go among these nations, these remaining among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them,

If you forsake Jehovah and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do evil and consume you, after He has done you good.

However nation by nation they continued making gods of their own, and put them in the houses on the high places which those from Samaria had made, nation by nation in the cities where they were living.

For all the gods of the peoples are nothing, but Jehovah has made the heavens.

How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me, and have sworn by those that are not gods. When I adjured them, then they committed adultery, and gathered themselves by troops in a harlot's house.

Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?

But if he does not wash them nor bathe his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.

Wash me completely from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Guard your feet when you go to the house of God, and be more ready to hear than to give the sacrifice of fools. For they do not know that they are doing evil.

Wash yourselves, purify yourselves. Put away the evil of your doings from My eyes; stop doing evil.

Depart! Depart! Go out from there! Touch not the unclean. Go out of her midst; purify yourselves, you who bear the vessels of Jehovah.

I have seen your adulteries, and your neighings, the lewdness of your harlotry, and your abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! Will you not be made clean? How long will it still be?

Cast away from you all the transgressions by which you have transgressed, and prepare for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

Then I said to them, Each of you, throw away the abominations which are before his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God.

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your defilement and from all your idols.

Jesus said to him, He who is bathed has no other need than to wash his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not everyone.

For He knew who was betraying Him; therefore He said, Not everyone of you is clean.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilements of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,

as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby,

but others rescue with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
