And Jacob also went in to Rachel, and he also loved Rachel more than Leah. And he served with him yet another seven years.

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.

He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it unto eternal life.

for Jehovah had closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, the wife of Abraham.

And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel was jealous of her sister, and said to Jacob, Give me sons, or if not I shall die!

And Jacob's anger burned against Rachel, and he said, Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?

And God remembered Rachel, and God gave heed to her and opened her womb.

Now there was a certain man from Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had borne no children.

And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to the woman and said to her, Behold now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son.

But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although Jehovah had closed up her womb.

So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked for him from Jehovah.

For this boy I prayed, and Jehovah granted me my petition which I have asked of Him.

And Jehovah visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew up with Jehovah.

Behold, children are a heritage from Jehovah, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.
