And he was afraid and said, How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of Heaven!

And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel toward the sea and Ai on the east. There he built an altar unto Jehovah and called upon the name of Jehovah.

And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and there he called upon the name of Jehovah, the Eternal God.

And he set up an altar there, and called it, El Elohe Israel.

And God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to the Mighty God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.

And Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him, Bethel.

and blessed is the Most High God, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him a tithe of all.

And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is Jehovah's. It is holy unto Jehovah.

And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy unto Jehovah.

You shall give a tithe to tithe all the increase of your seed that the field yields year by year.

And you shall eat before Jehovah your God, in the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear Jehovah your God all your days.
