And David said to Ahimelech the priest, The king has charged me with some business, and said to me, Let no one know anything of the matter about which I am sending you, or what I have commanded you. And I have directed my young men to such and such a place.

And he changed his behavior in their eyes, acted like a mad man in their hands, scratched marks on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall into his beard.

And Achish would say, Did you not make a raid today? And David would say, Against the southern area of Judah, or against the southern area of the Jerahmeelites, or against the southern area of the Kenites.

And the king said to her, What is troubling you? And she answered, Truly I am a widow and my husband is dead.

Will you speak unjustly for the Mighty God, and talk deceitfully for Him?

Will you show partiality for Him? Will you contend for the Mighty God?

For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the tongue of the crafty.

The lips of truth shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a twinkling moment.

Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah, but those who deal in faithfulness are His delight.

Remove far from me vanity and lying words; give me neither poverty or riches, provide for me my prescribed portion of food;

These are the things that you shall do. Every man speak the truth with his neighbor. Judge truth, justice and peace in your gates,

For if in my lie, the truth of God has abounded to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

And why not say (as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil that good may come? Their condemnation is just.

Therefore, putting away lying, let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his practices,
