And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of Jehovah. So Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years,

So it was that when Israel had sown, the Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the sons of the East would come up against them.

For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as the abundance of locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it.

And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to Jehovah because of the Midianites,

Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that had come upon him, each one came from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. For they had made an appointment together to come and show sympathy for him, and to comfort him.
