They who swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, As your god lives, O Dan! and, As the way of Beer-sheba lives! even they shall fall, and never rise again.

You shall not plant for yourself any tree as a grove near the altar which you build for yourself unto Jehovah your God.

And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of Jehovah. They forgot Jehovah their God, and served the Baals and groves.

And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he called his name Enosh. Then they began to call upon the name of Jehovah.

And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel toward the sea and Ai on the east. There he built an altar unto Jehovah and called upon the name of Jehovah.

And he went up from there to Beer-sheba.

So he built an altar there and called upon the name of Jehovah. And he pitched his tent there; and there Isaac's servants dug a well.

And he called it Shebah. Therefore the name of the city is Beer-sheba to this day.

The God of old is your refuge, and underneath are the eternal arms. He will thrust out the enemy before you, and say, Destroy!

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are the Mighty God.

Have you not known? Have you not heard, that the eternal God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not grow faint nor weary? His understanding is unsearchable.

For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and consecrated place, even with the contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

But Jehovah is the true God, He is the living God, and the eternal King. At His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to endure His indignation.

For ever since the creation of the world the unseen things of Him are clearly perceived, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

but now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the eternal God, for obedience to the faith;

Now to the King eternal, incorruptible, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
