And Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South.

And Jehovah appeared to him in the plains of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent opening in the heat of the day.

And Isaac came from the gates of Beer Lahai Roi, for he dwelt in the land toward the south.

Then they turned back and came to En Mishpat (which is Kadesh), and struck all the land of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites who dwelt in Hazezon Tamar.

Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar.

And the Angel of Jehovah found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur.

Therefore the well was called Beer Lahai Roi. Behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.

And Saul struck the Amalekites, from Havilah all the way to Shur, which is before Egypt.

The voice of Jehovah shakes the wilderness; Jehovah shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; then as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, to Gerar.

And Isaac dwelt in Gerar.

But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac's herdsmen, saying, The water is ours. So he called the name of the well Esek, because they had contended with him.

And Abimelech came to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath, one of his friends, and Phicol the commander of his army.

And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So the Ethiopians fell, and they could not recover, for they were broken before Jehovah and His army. And they carried away very much spoils.

And they struck all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of Jehovah had come upon them; and they plundered all the cities, for there was exceedingly much spoils in them.
