Genesis 46:1-34
1
So Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba. And he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

And God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and called out, Jacob! Jacob! And he said, Here am I.

And He said, I am the Mighty God, the God of your fathers. Do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there.
4
I will go down with you into Egypt, and I will arise to bring you back. And Joseph shall put his hand on your eyes.

And Jacob arose from Beer-sheba; and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

So they took their livestock and their possessions which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob and all his seed with him.

His sons and his sons' sons, his daughters and his sons' daughters, and all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.

And these were the names of the sons of Israel who went into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben was Jacob's firstborn.

The sons of Reuben were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman.

The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

The sons of Issachar were Tola, Puvah, Job, and Shimron.

The sons of Zebulun were Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.

These were the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls, his sons and his daughters: thirty-three.

And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him.

The sons of Benjamin were Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.

These were the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: fourteen souls in all.

The son of Dan was Hushim.

The sons of Naphtali were Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.

These were the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, and she bore these to Jacob: seven souls in all.

All the souls who went with Jacob to Egypt, who came forth from his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, were sixty-six souls in all.

And the sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob who went into Egypt were seventy.

And he sent Judah before him to Joseph, to give directions before him to Goshen. And they came into the land of Goshen.

And Joseph prepared his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel; and he presented himself to him, and fell on his neck and wept on his neck a good while.

And Israel said to Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen your face, because you are still alive.
31
And Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's house, I will go up and report to Pharaoh, and say to him, My brothers and those of my fathers house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.
32
And the men tend cattle, for they are men of livestock; and they have brought their flocks, their herds, and all that they have.
33
So it shall be, when Pharaoh summons you and says, What is your occupation?
34
that you shall say, Your servants have been men of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and also our fathers; that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.
Exodus 6:5
And I have also heard the groaning of the sons of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.
Exodus 6:6
Therefore say to the sons of Israel: I am Jehovah; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
Exodus 7:1-14

And Jehovah said to Moses: See, I have made you as a god to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.
2
You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land.
3
And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.
4
But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand upon Egypt and bring My hosts, My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt with great judgments.
5
And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
6
And Moses and Aaron did as Jehovah commanded them; thus they did.
7
And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.
8
And Jehovah spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, Show a sign for yourselves, then you shall say to Aaron, Take your staff and cast it before Pharaoh, and let it become a serpent.
10
And Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just as Jehovah commanded. And Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
11
And Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers. So the magicians of Egypt, they also did so with their enchantments.
12
For every man threw down his staff, and they became serpents. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.
13
And Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not heed them, as Jehovah had said.
14
And Jehovah said to Moses: Pharaoh's heart is hard; he refuses to let the people go.
