And one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew, for he dwelt by the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner; and they were allies with Abram.

And Jehovah appeared to him in the plains of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent opening in the heat of the day.

And Sarah died in Kirjath Arba (which is Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

And Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre, to the city of Arba (which is Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had sojourned.

I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
