And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer to Azotus.

And he went out and fought against the Philistines, and pulled down the walls of Gath, and the walls of Jabneh, and the walls of Ashdod, and he built cities [near] Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

and all the mixed multitude, and all the kings of the Philistines, [namely] Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Azotus,

And aliens shall dwell in Azotus, and I will bring down the pride of the Philistines.

And Sampson went to Gaza, and he saw a harlot there, and went in to her.

And the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he became a grinder in the prison house.

And I will send forth a fire on the walls of Gaza, and it shall devour its foundations.

And I will destroy the inhabitants out of Azotus, and a tribe shall be cut off from Ashkelon, and I will stretch out My hand upon Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord.

But Judah did not inherit Gaza nor her coasts, nor Ashkelon or her coasts, nor Ekron or her coasts, nor Azotus or the lands around it.

Ashkelon shall see and fear; Gaza also, and shall be greatly pained, and Ekron; for she is ashamed at her trespass; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

Therefore they sent and gathered the lords of the Philistines to them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they said, Let the ark of God come over to us; and the ark of the God of Israel came to Gath.

Tell it not in Gath, and tell it not as glad tidings in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

These four were born descendants of the giants in Gath, the family of Rapha; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

O house of Israel, pass by all of you, and see; and pass by from there to Hamath; and from there descend to Gath of the Philistines, the chief of all these kingdoms, see if their coasts are greater than your coasts.

And they send away the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass when the ark of God went into Ekron, that the men of Ekron cried out, saying, Why have you brought back the ark of the God of Israel to us, to kill us and our people?

[Now] Ahaziah fell through the lattice that was in his upper chamber in Samaria, and was sick. And he sent messengers, and said to them, Go and inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover of this my sickness. And they went to inquire of him.

And I will destroy the inhabitants out of Azotus, and a tribe shall be cut off from Ashkelon, and I will stretch out My hand upon Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord.
