And the man's name [was] Nabal, and his wife's name was Abigail. And his wife [was] of good understanding and very beautiful in appearance. But the man was harsh, and evil in his doings, and the man was foolish.

[ 24:14] As the old proverb says, Transgression will proceed from the wicked ones; but my hand shall not be upon you.

Lest you should say in your heart, My strength, and the power of my [own] hand have worked for me this great wealth!

And the princes of Soccoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in your hand, that we should give bread to your army?

And if I also ate my morsel alone, and did not impart [of it] to the orphan;

Their injustice shall go forth as out of fatness; they have fulfilled their intention.

They have taken counsel and spoken in wickedness; they have uttered unrighteousness loftily.

Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

Send forth your bread upon the face of the water, for you shall find it after many days.

Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you know not what evil there shall be upon the earth.

So then, as we have opportunity, let us work what is good toward all, but especially toward those who are of the household of faith.

And one of the servants reported to Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our lord; but he turned away from them.

And the men were very good to us; they did not hinder us, neither did they demand from us anything all the days that we were with them.

We know that God has spoken to Moses; but [as for] this [Man], we do not know where He is from."

The man answered and said to them, "Why, this is a remarkable thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He opened my eyes!

as being unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as being disciplined, and not being put to death;
