And if your father in any way inquires about me, then shall you say, David earnestly asked leave of me to run to Bethlehem his city, for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.

And in the days of your gladness, and in your feasts, and in your new moons, you shall sound with the trumpets at your whole burnt offerings, and at the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and there shall be a memorial for you before your God: I [am] the Lord your God.

And at the new moons you shall bring a whole burnt offering to the Lord, two calves of the herd, and one ram, seven lambs of a year old without blemish.

And he said, Why are you going to him today? It is neither new moon, nor the Sabbath. And she said, [It is] well.

Blow the trumpet at the new moon, in the glorious day of your feast.

Therefore do not let anyone judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or of a new moon or of sabbaths,

And you shall stay three days, and watch an opportunity, and shall come to your place where you may hide yourself in the day of your business, and you shall wait by the stone Ezel.

And Jonathan, Saul's son, loved David much. And Jonathan told David, saying, Saul seeks to kill you; take heed to yourself therefore tomorrow morning, and hide yourself, and dwell in secret.
