And it came to pass from the time that the ark was in Kirjath Jearim, the days were multiplied, and [the time] was twenty years; and all the house of Israel looked after the Lord.

And the children of Israel cried to the Lord; and the Lord raised up a deliverer to Israel, and he delivered them, Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.

When He slew them, they sought Him; and they returned and sought diligently after God.

And they remembered that God was their Helper, and the Most High God was their Redeemer.

You the Lord looked upon their affliction, when You heard their petition.

Lord, in affliction I remembered You; Your chastening was to us with small affliction.

And they provoked the Lord, and forsook Him, and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgot the Lord their God, and served Baalam and the groves.

And the children of Israel said to the Lord, We have sinned: do unto us according to all that is good in Your eyes; only deliver us this day.

And they put away the strange gods from the midst of them, and served the Lord only, and His soul was pained for the trouble of Israel.

For my God is great; the Lord our judge shall not pass me by; the Lord is our prince, the Lord is our king; the Lord, He shall save us.

to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear,

in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

For the love of Christ compels us, having concluded this: that if One died for all, then all died;

and He died for all, so that they who live should live no longer for themselves, but for the [One] who died for them and rose again.
