And David answered Jonathan, and said, Your father knows surely that I have found grace in your sight, and he said, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he refuse his consent. But as the Lord lives, and your soul lives, as I said, there is but [a step] between me and death.

In this manner shall you be tested; by the life of Pharaoh, you shall not depart from here, unless your younger brother comes here.

And Uriah said to David, The ark and Israel and Judah dwell in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord are encamped in the open fields; and shall I go into my house to eat and drink, and lie with my wife? How [should I do this?] As your soul lives, I will not do this thing.

And the king said, [Is] not the hand of Joab in all this matter with you? And the woman said to the king, [As] your soul lives, my lord, O king, there is no turning to the right hand or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken; for your servant Joab himself charged me, and he put all these words in the mouth of your handmaid.

And Elijah said to Elisha, Stay here, please; for God has sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said, [As] the Lord lives and your soul lives, I will not leave you; so they came to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha, Stay here, please; for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. And he said, [As] the Lord lives and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they came to Jericho.

And Elijah said to him, Stay here please, for the Lord has sent me to the Jordan. And Elisha said, [As] the Lord lives and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they both went on.

And the mother of the child said, [As] the Lord lives and [as] your soul lives, I will not leave you. And Elisha arose, and went after her.
