For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life on account of Me shall find it.

But I count myself as nothing; nor do I regard my life as valuable to myself, so that I may complete my course with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear solemn testimony to the gospel of the grace of God.

Then Paul answered, "What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem, in behalf of the name of the Lord Jesus."

But even if I am being poured upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice; [yea], and I rejoice with you all.

because for the work of Christ he drew near unto death, being careless with his life, in order that he might fill up that which was lacking in your service to me.

So therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every impediment, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and discouraged in your souls.

But the mirth of the ungodly is a signal downfall, and the joy of transgressors is destruction:

Alas! Destruction to the unrighteous, and rejection to them that do iniquity!

How long will you assault a man? You are all slaughtering as with a bowed wall and a broken hedge.

For surely man also knows not his time; as fish that are taken in an evil net, and as birds that are caught in a snare, even thus the sons of men are snared at an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

For just as they were in the days before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

and they didn't know [a thing] until the flood came and took [them] all away, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.

For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him powerfully, and he went down to Ashkelon, and destroyed thirty men among the inhabitants, and took their garments, and gave the changes of clothing to them that told the riddle. And Sampson was very angry, and went up to the house of his father.

And he struck them, leg on thigh, [with] a great overthrow; and went down and dwelt in a cave of the rock of Etam.

And he found the jaw bone of an ass that had been cast away, and he put forth his hand and took it, and he struck down a thousand men with it.

[ 3:16] And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her Seed, He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

[And h]aving disarmed principalities and powers, He mocked them in public, triumphing over them in it.

Therefore since the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same things, in order that through death He might destroy the [one] having the power of death, that is, the devil,

and that He might set free these, as many as by fear of death through all of their lives, were subject to bondage.
