And the children of Israel continued to do evil against the Lord; and Ehud was dead.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gave them into the hand of Midian for seven years.

And the children of Israel yet again committed iniquity before the Lord; and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.

And the children of Israel did evil before the Lord, and served Baalam.

And they provoked the Lord, and forsook Him, and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgot the Lord their God, and served Baalam and the groves.

I will seek after the gods of Damascus that attack me. And he said, Forasmuch as the gods of the king of Syria themselves strengthen them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, and they will help me. But they became a stumbling block to him, and to all Israel.

And they served their graven images; and it became an offense to them.

For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the abomination of the Sidonians.

Then Solomon built a high place to Chemosh the idol of Moab, and to their king the idol of the children of Ammon.

Because he forsook Me, and sacrificed to Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and to Chemosh, and to the idols of Moab, and to their king the abomination of the children of Ammon, and he walked not in My ways, to do that which was right before Me, as David his father [did].

And it was not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, but he took Jezabel the daughter of Ethebaal king of the Sidonians for a wife; and he went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

They forsook the commandments of the Lord their God, and made themselves graven images, [even] two heifers, and they made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

But the nations each made their own gods, and put them in the house of the high places which the Samaritans [had] made, each nation in the cities in which they dwelt.

and the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the [inhabitants] of Sepharvaim [did evil] when they burned their sons in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.

And the king defiled the house that was before Jerusalem, on the right hand of the Mount of Mosthath, which Solomon king of Israel built to Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and to Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and to Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.

And the chiefs of the Philistines met to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon, and to make merry. And they said, [our] god has given into our hand our enemy Sampson.

And the Philistines took the ark of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

[Now] Ahaziah fell through the lattice that was in his upper chamber in Samaria, and was sick. And he sent messengers, and said to them, Go and inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover of this my sickness. And they went to inquire of him.

And an angel of the Lord called Elijah the Tishbite, saying, Arise, and go to meet the messengers of Ahaziah king of Samaria, and you shall say to them, [Is it] because there is no God in Israel, [that] you go to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? But [it shall] not [be] so.

For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn out for themselves broken cisterns, which will not be able to hold water.

and on the head of every road you set up your fornications, and defiled your beauty, and opened your feet to every passer by, and multiplied your fornication.

And you went a-whoring after the children of Egypt your neighbors, great of flesh; and went a-whoring, often to provoke Me to anger.
