standing from afar on account of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! Because in one hour your judgment came.'

Because in one hour such great wealth was laid waste.' And every captain, and all those sailing along the coast, and sailors, and as many as work on the sea, stood from afar

"And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and sorrowing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, by which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! Because in one hour she was laid waste.'

But now these two things shall come upon you suddenly in one day, the loss of children and widowhood shall come suddenly upon you, for your sorcery, for the strength of your enchantments,

And destruction shall come upon you, and you shall not be aware; [there shall be a] pit, and you shall fall into it; and grief shall come upon you, and you shall not be able to be clear; and destruction shall come suddenly upon you, and you shall not know.

Flee from the midst of Babylon, and deliver everyone his soul; and be not overthrown in her iniquity; for it is the time of her retribution from the Lord. He is rendering to her a recompense.

"The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her shall weep and mourn over her, when they see the smoke of her burning,

And the woman whom you saw is that great city which has royal rule over the kings of the earth."

And a second [one] said, "Hallelujah! Her smoke goes up forever and ever!"

Thus says the Lord: The wall of Babylon was made broad, but it shall be completely broken down, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall not labor in vain, nor the nations fail in [their] rule.

saying: "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.

For indeed He is strong in power: who then shall resist His judgment?

God has spoken once, [and] I have heard these two things, that power is of God;

In that day God shall bring [His] holy and great and strong sword upon the dragon, even the serpent that flees, upon the dragon, the crooked serpent; He shall destroy the dragon.

Behold, I am against you, O haughty one, says the Lord; for your day has come, and the time of your retribution.

But their Redeemer is strong; the Lord Almighty is His name. He will enter into judgment with His adversaries, that He may destroy the earth;

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
