But the men of Sodom were evil, and exceedingly sinful before God.

And the Lord said, The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah has been increased towards Me, and their sins are very great.

And the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.

And his wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

brimstone and burning salt, (the whole land shall not be sown, neither shall any green thing spring, nor rise upon it, as Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His wrath and anger)-

And if the Lord of Sabaoth had not left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and been made like Gomorrah.

And Babylon, which is called glorious by the king of the Chaldeans, shall be as [when] God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

Let that man rejoice as the cities which the Lord overthrew in wrath, and repented not: let him hear crying in the morning, and loud lamentation at noon;

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities bordering upon them, says the Lord: no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn there.

VAU. And the iniquity of the daughter of my people has been increased beyond the iniquities of Sodom, [the city] that was overthrown very suddenly, and none labored against her [with their] hands.

Moreover this was the sin of your sister Sodom- pride. She and her daughters lived in pleasure, in fullness of bread [and] in abundance; this belonged to her and her daughters, and they helped not the hand of the poor and needy.

And they boasted, and worked iniquities before Me: so I cut them off as I saw [fit].

How shall I deal with you, O Ephraim? [How] shall I protect you, O Israel? What shall I do with you? I will make you as Adamah, and as Zeboiim; My heart is turned at once, My repentance is powerfully excited.

I overthrew you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you became as a brand plucked out of the fire; yet not even then did you return to Me, says the Lord.

but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed [them] all.

And they called out Lot, and said to him, Where are the men that came to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may be with them.

For this reason God gave them up to passions of dishonor; for even their females exchanged the natural use for that which is contrary to nature,

and likewise also the males, having forsaken the natural use of the female, were inflamed by their lust for one another, males with males, committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,

But I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you."

and reducing the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes, He condemned [them] to destruction, having made [them] an example who were to be ungodly,

brimstone and burning salt, (the whole land shall not be sown, neither shall any green thing spring, nor rise upon it, as Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His wrath and anger)-

The sinners in Zion have departed; trembling shall seize the ungodly. Who will tell you that a fire is kindled? Who will tell you of the eternal place?

"Then He will also say to those on the left, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels:

If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It would be better for you to enter into life maimed, than to enter having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched--

"And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It would be better for you to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched--

"And if your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It would be better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into the fiery hell,

"For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.
