The weak one you have not strengthened, and the sick you have not cherished, and the bruised you have not bound up, and the stray one you have not turned back, and the lost you have not sought; and the strong you have wearied with labor.

Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, shall be your servant.

And whoever of you desires to be first shall be servant of all.

And there became also a dispute among them, [as to] which of them seemed to be greater.

But you [shall] not [be] thus; but let the greatest among you, let him be as the youngest, and he who leads as he who serves.

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord has given to each one?

For we are coworkers with God; you are God's field, you are God's building.

Not that we lord it over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake.

I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves the preeminence over them, does not receive us.

On account of this, if I come, I will call to mind his works which he does, slandering us with evil words. And not being content with that, he does not receive the brothers, and hinders those who desire to, casting them out of the church.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's [own] possession, that you may proclaim the excellent virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

And His people Jacob became the portion of the Lord, Israel was the line of His inheritance.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.

Remember Your congregation which You have purchased from the beginning; You ransomed the rod of Your inheritance, this Mount Zion where You have dwelt.

Tend your people with your rod, the sheep of your inheritance, those that inhabit by themselves the thicket in the midst of Carmel: they shall feed in the land of Bashan, and in the land of Gilead, as in the days of old.

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you [as] overseers, to shepherd the church of the Lord, and of God, which He purchased with His own blood.

Nevertheless, neither is the man apart from the woman, nor the woman apart from the man, in the Lord.

Be fellow imitators of me, brothers, and look out for those walking this way, just as you have us for a pattern.

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.

For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, just as you know what kind [of men] we were among you for your sake.

And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, in that you received the word in much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

not because we do not have authority, but in order that we may give ourselves as a pattern to you, so that you might follow us.

Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but [rather] become a pattern for the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

in all respects showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, dignity, incorruptibility,
