All her glory [is that] of the daughter of the king of Heshbon, robed in golden fringed garments,

For behold, You love truth; You have manifested to me the secret and hidden things of Your wisdom.

Blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside of them may be clean also.

Fools! Did not He who made the outside also make the inside?

but he [is] a Jew that [is one] inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, whose praise is not of men but of God.

knowing this, that our old man was crucified [with Him], so that the body of sin may be done away with, [that] we should no longer serve sin.

For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.

Therefore we do not despair, but even if our outward man is being destroyed, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

that you put off, concerning your former way of life, the old man which is being corrupted according to the deceitful lusts,

and that you put on the new man which was created in the likeness of God, in true righteousness and holiness.

For you died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God.

Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old man with his practices,

and have put on the new man who is renewed in full knowledge according to the image of Him who created it,

having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be prepared with a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

The meek will He guide in judgment; the meek will He teach His ways.

The Lord lifts up the meek; but brings sinners down to the ground.

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; and will exalt the meek with salvation.

but He shall judge the cause of the lowly, and shall reprove the lowly of the earth; and He shall smite the earth with the word of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He destroy the ungodly one.

and the poor shall rejoice with joy because of the Lord, and they that had no hope among men shall be filled with joy.

Thus says the Most High, who dwells on high forever, Holy in the holies is His name, the Most High resting in the holies, and giving patience to the faint-hearted, and giving life to the broken-hearted;

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me; He has sent Me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind;

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

"Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to you, humble, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"

Now I, Paul, myself appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who face to face [am] lowly among you, but when I am away am bold toward you.

gentleness, self-control--against such things there is no law.

with all humility and meekness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, patience;

in meekness instructing those that oppose, if God perhaps may give them repentance, to a full knowledge of the truth,

to slander no one, to be peaceable, gentle, demonstrating all meekness to all men.

Therefore laying aside all filthiness and abundance of evil, in meekness receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

Is there anyone wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct [that] his works [are] in meekness of wisdom.

This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

[I shall have sinned] if I have not been humble, but have exalted my soul; according to [the relation of] a weaned child to his mother, so will You recompense my soul.

The word which the Lord commanded the prophet Jeremiah to say to Seraiah son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, when he went from Zedekiah king of Judah to Babylon, in the fourth year of his reign. And Seraiah was over the bounties.

and that you aspire to be quiet, and to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, just as we commanded you,

And to such [people] we command and urge by our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.

on behalf of kings and all those who are in authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance, nor on his stature, for I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

He will not take pleasure in the strength of a horse; neither is He well-pleased with the legs of a man.

The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear Him, and in all that hope in His mercy.

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; and will exalt the meek with salvation.

And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. Because that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.
