And Joshua and Israel saw, and retreated from before them.

in the wilderness: Beth Arabah, Middin, Secacah;

And their borders were northward: the borders shall go up from the Jordan behind Jericho northward, and shall go up to the mountain westward, and the issue of it shall be the Wilderness of Beth Aven.

And the men of the city said to Elisha, Behold, the situation of the city [is] good, as [our] lord sees; but the waters [are] bad, and the ground barren.

And Elisha went out to the spring of the waters, and cast in the salt there, and said, Thus says the Lord: I have healed these waters; there shall be no more death there or barrenness.
