And Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise, and fall upon us, for your power is as that of a man. And Gideon arose, and killed Zebah and Zalmunna: and he took the round ornaments that were on the necks of their camels.

And Samuel said to Agag, As your sword has bereaved women of their children, so shall your mother be made childless among women. And Samuel hacked Agag [to pieces] before the Lord in Gilgal.

And he hanged the king of Ai on the gallows, and he remained on the tree till evening. And when the sun went down, Joshua gave charge, and they took down his body from the tree, and cast it into a pit, and they set over him a heap of stones to this day.

And the Lord said to Moses, Take all the princes of the people, and make them examples [of judgment] for the Lord in the face of the sun, and the anger of the Lord shall be turned away from Israel.

And if there be sin in anyone, [and] the judgment of death [be upon him], and he be put to death, and you hang him on a tree;

his body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but you shall by all means bury it in that day; for everyone that is hanged on a tree is cursed of God; and you shall by no means defile the land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance.

Let one give us seven men of his sons, and let us hang them up in the sun to the Lord in Gibeah of Saul, as chosen out for the Lord. And the king said, I will give [them].

And he gave them into the hand of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them up to the sun in the mountain before the lord. And they fell, even the seven together. Moreover they were put to death in the days of harvest at the commencement, in the beginning of the barley harvest.

And the king examined the two eunuchs, and hanged them. And the king gave orders to make a note for a memorial in the royal records of the good offices of Mordecai, as a commendation.

And Harbonah, one of the eunuchs, said to the king, Behold, Haman has also prepared a gallows for Mordecai, who spoke concerning the king, and a gallows of fifty cubits high has been set up on Haman's premises. And the king said, Let him be hanged on it!

So Haman was hanged on the gallows that had been prepared for Mordecai; and then the king's wrath was appeased.

And all the people answered and said, "His blood [be] on us and on our children."

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"
