You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelries and drinking bouts, not in orgies and debaucheries, not in strife and jealousy.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light--

for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth,

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's [own] possession, that you may proclaim the excellent virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

But if we are walking in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

And He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and placed the helmet of salvation on His head; and He clothed himself with the garment of vengeance, and with His cloak,

The night is advanced, the day is at hand. Therefore let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

through the word of truth, through the power of God, through the weapons of righteousness on the right hand and on the left hand,

Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the stratagems of the devil.

Because of this, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having accomplished all things, to stand.

and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

For oh that my words were written, and that they were recorded in a book forever,

For I know that He is eternal who is about to deliver me,

which I am conscious of in myself, which my eye has seen, and not another, but all have been fulfilled to me in my bosom.

Why are you downcast, O my soul? And why do you trouble me? Hope in God; for I will give thanks to Him; [He is] the salvation of my countenance.

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why do you trouble me? Hope in God; for I will give thanks to Him; [He is] the health of my countenance, and my God.

is good, and shall wait for, and quietly expect salvation from the Lord.

through whom also we have had access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

and endurance, character; and character, hope.

For by this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly await it with endurance.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

For we by the Spirit eagerly await [for] the hope of righteousness by faith.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and a good hope by grace,

which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and secure, and which enters into the inner [side] of the veil,

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has a great recompense.

For you have need of endurance, so that having done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

who by the power of God [are] being guarded through faith for the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! On account of this the world does not know you, because it did not know Him.

And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
