And [God] blotted out every offspring which was upon the face of the earth, both man and beast, and reptiles, and birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth, and Noah was left alone, and those with him in the ark.

Take a survey of your way, and you shall divide the coasts of your land, which the Lord your God apportions to you, into three parts, and there shall be there a refuge for every manslayer.

And this shall be the ordinance of the manslayer who shall flee there, and shall live, whosoever has killed his neighbor ignorantly, seeing that he did not hate him in times past.

in order that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong encouragement, who have fled to take hold of the hope being set before [us];

by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,

who formerly disobeyed, when the longsuffering of God was waiting in the days of Noah, when the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water;

[There is] therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Notwithstanding, in regard to the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who were sent to him, to inquire of him [concerning] the wonders which came upon the land, the Lord left him, to test him, to know what was in his heart.

I quake in all my limbs, for I know that You will not leave me alone as innocent.

For if I should wash myself with snow, and purge myself with pure hands,

And if I should sin, You watch me, and You have not cleared me from iniquity.

Or if I should be ungodly, woe is me: and if I should be righteous, I cannot lift myself up, for I am full of dishonor.

For who, being a mortal, [is such] that he shall be blameless? Or [who that is] born of a woman, that he should be just?

Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

I have heard the report of You by the ear before; but now my eye has seen You.

Therefore I have counted myself vile, and have fainted: and I esteem myself dust and ashes.

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become corrupt, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

Who will understand [his] transgressions? Purge me from my secret [sins].

If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

For with You is forgiveness;

And enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight shall no [man] living be justified.

For there is not a righteous man in the earth who will do good, and not sin.

And I said, Woe is me, for I am pricked to the heart; for being a man, and having unclean lips, I dwell in the midst of a people having unclean lips; and I have seen with my eyes the King, the Lord of hosts.

All we like sheep have gone astray; everyone has gone astray in his way; and the Lord gave Him up for our sins.

For [these blessings] shall happen to them that work righteousness, and they shall remember Your ways; behold, You were angry and we have sinned; therefore we have erred,

and we have all become as unclean, and all our righteousness is as a filthy rag; and we have fallen as leaves because of our iniquities; thus the wind shall carry us [away].

But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call [the] righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not attain to the law of righteousness.

Why? Because [they did] not [seek it] by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled the stone of stumbling.

Brothers, the good pleasure of my heart and my supplication to God on behalf of Israel, is for [their] salvation.

For they, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

who having saved us, and having called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time [itself],

not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

For we all stumble in many [ways]. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.

If we claim that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we claim that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Cursed is every man that continues not in all the words of this law, to do them. And all the people shall say, So be it.

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'"

But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law [comes] [the] knowledge of sin.

For the promise that he should be heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through [the] law, but through [the] righteousness of faith.

because the law produces wrath; for where there is no law neither is there transgression.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions aroused through the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known lust unless the law had said, "You shall not covet."

For I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, but I died.

For sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, deceived me, and by it, killed me.

Then has that which is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through that which is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.

For what [was] impossible [for] the law to do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

For Christ is the end of [the] law for righteousness to everyone that believes.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which [is] of the law, "That the man who does those things shall live by them."

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."

But the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them."

but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "You shall not murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but [yet] you murder, [then] you have become a transgressor of the law.

Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

My mouth shall declare Your righteousness openly, [and] Your salvation all the day; for I am not acquainted with the affairs [of men].

I will go on in the might of the Lord: O Lord, I will make mention of Your righteousness only.

saying, Righteousness and glory shall come to Him; and all that remove them from their borders shall be ashamed.

By the Lord shall they be justified, and in God shall all the seed of the children of Israel be glorified.

I have brought near My righteousness, and I will not be slow with the salvation that is from Me; I have given salvation in Zion to Israel for glory.

the Lord also is pleased to take away from the travail of His soul, to show Him light, and to form [Him] with understanding; to justify the just one who serves many well; and He shall bear their sins.

In his days both Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell securely. And this is his name, which the Lord shall call Him, Josedek among the prophets.

Seventy weeks have been determined upon your people, and upon the holy city, for sin to be ended, to seal up transgressions, to blot out iniquities, to make atonement for iniquities, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

And when He comes, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

of righteousness, because I am going to My Father and you see Me no more;

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law has been revealed, being witnessed to by the Law and the Prophets,

even the righteousness of God, through [the] faithfulness of Jesus Christ, to all and upon all those that believe. For there is no distinction;

But to him who does not work but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

just as David also speaks of the blessing of the man to whom God accounts righteousness apart from works:

For the promise that he should be heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through [the] law, but through [the] righteousness of faith.

so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith;

For they, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

But the righteousness of faith says thus, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who shall ascend into heaven?' " (that is, to bring Christ down)

For with the heart one believes [resulting in] righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, [resulting in] salvation.

But from Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by [the] faith of Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by [the] faith of Christ and not by [the] works of the law; because no flesh shall be justified by [the] works of the law.

But that no one is justified by the law before God is evident, for "The just shall live by faith."
