Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold; but one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

Nevertheless, to what we have attained, let us walk by the same rule, [being] of the same mind.

O that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes.

Let Your hand be [prompt] to save me; for I have chosen Your commandments.

My soul shall live, and shall praise You; and Your judgments shall help me.

For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, this I practice.

Therefore I find this law, that [when] I wish to do the right [thing], that evil is present with me.

But I see a different law in my members, waging war with the law of my mind, and capturing me by the law of sin which is in my members.

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these things oppose each other, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called and have confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

For we all stumble in many [ways]. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.

But let the faithful hold on his own way, and let him that is pure of hands take courage.

O Lord, You shall recompense [them] on my behalf: Your mercy, O Lord, [endures] forever: do not overlook the works of Your hands.

But the ways of the righteous shine like light; they go forth and shine, until the day has fully come.

But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is partial shall pass away.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

For we rejoice whenever we are weak, but you are strong. And this also we pray, that you may be made complete.

for the perfecting of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,

to the general assembly and church of the firstborn having been enrolled in [the] heavens, to God the Judge of all, and to spirits of just men made perfect,

make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing before Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

But may the God of all grace, the [One] having called you into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little [while], may He Himself make you complete--He will establish, strengthen, [and] firmly ground [you].

But also [for] this very reason, making every effort, provide with your faith virtue, and with virtue knowledge,

and with godliness brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love.

but grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

For the end, [A Psalm] of instruction, for the sons of Korah. As the deer earnestly desires the fountains of water, so my soul earnestly longs for You, O God.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Edom. O God, my God, I cry to You early; my soul has thirsted for You: how often has my flesh [longed] after You, in a barren and trackless and dry land!

For Your mercy is better than life: my lips shall praise You.

My soul longs and faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh have exalted in the living God.

until righteousness return to judgment, and all the upright in heart shall follow it. Pause.

Hearken to Me, you that follow after righteousness, and seek the Lord; look to the solid rock, which you have hewn, and to the hole of the pit which you have dug.

Let us follow on to know the Lord: we shall find Him ready as the morning, and He will come to us as the early and latter rain to the earth.

See that no one pays back evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue that which is good, both for one another and for all.

having a reputation for good works, if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

You however, O man of God, flee these things. But pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness.

Pursue peace and holiness with all [people], without which no one shall see the Lord:

Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

And who is he that shall injure you if you become imitators of that which is good?

The Lord shall send out the rod of Your strength out of Zion; rule in the midst of Your enemies!
