Deuteronomy 3:23-27

And I pleaded with the Lord at that time, saying,

Lord God, You have begun to show to Your servant Your strength and Your power, and Your mighty hand and Your outstretched arm: for what God is there in heaven or on earth who will do as You have done, and according to Your might?
25
I will therefore go over and see this good land that is beyond the Jordan, this good mountain, and Lebanon.
26
And the Lord regarded me not because of you, and hearkened not to me; and the Lord said to me, Enough already, do not speak of this matter to Me anymore!
27
Go up to the top of the quarried rock, and look with your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold [it] with your eyes, for you shall not go over this Jordan.
Numbers 20:11
And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his rod twice; and much water came forth, and the congregation drank, and their cattle.
Numbers 20:12
And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Because you have not believed Me to sanctify Me before the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
Numbers 20:24
Let Aaron be added to his people; for you shall certainly not go into the land which I have given the children of Israel, because you provoked Me at the water of Strife.

This is the water of Strife, because the children of Israel spoke insolently before the Lord, and He was sanctified in them.

And it came to pass after he had eaten bread and drunk water, that he saddled the donkey for him, and he turned and departed.

And a lion found him on the road, and killed him; and his body was cast out in the road, and the donkey was standing by it, and the lion [also] was standing by the body.

And behold, men [were] passing by, and saw the corpse cast out in the road, and the lion was standing near the carcass. And they went in and spoke [of it] in the city where the old prophet dwelt.

And [the prophet] that turned him back out of the road heard, and said, This is the man of God who rebelled against the word of the Lord.

Sanctify the Lord Himself; and He shall be your fear.
