I call heaven and earth this day to witness against you, that you shall surely perish from off the land, into which you go across the Jordan to inherit it there; you shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall be utterly cut off.

Gather together to me the heads of your tribes, and your elders, and your judges, and your officers, that I may speak in their ears all these words; and I call both heaven and earth to witness against them.

Attend, O heaven, and I will speak; and let the earth hear the words out of my mouth.

Hear, O heaven, and hearken, O earth! For the Lord has spoken, [saying], I have begotten and reared up children, but they have rebelled against Me.

The heaven is amazed at this, and is very exceedingly horrorstruck, says the Lord.

For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn out for themselves broken cisterns, which will not be able to hold water.

O earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord!

Write this man down as childless; for by no means shall his seed ever grow up to sit on the throne of David, [or be as] a prince yet in Judah.

Hear now a word: the Lord God has said; Arise, plead with the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.

Hear, O you mountains, the controversy of the Lord, and you valleys; even the foundations of the earth: for the Lord has a controversy with His people, and will plead with Israel.

I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing according to partiality.

Behold, I have set before you this day life and death, good and evil.

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

But if it seem not good to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your fathers that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, among whom you dwell upon their land. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, for He is holy.

The Lord our God, He is God; He brought up us and our fathers from Egypt, and kept us in all the way in which we walked, and among all the nations through whom we passed.

And Joshua said to the people, Indeed you will not be able to serve the Lord, for God is holy; and He being jealous will not forgive your sins and your transgressions.

And the people said to Joshua, No, but we will serve the Lord!

I have chosen the way of truth; and have not forgotten Your judgments.

I have inherited Your testimonies forever; for they are the joy of my heart.

Let Your hand be [prompt] to save me; for I have chosen Your commandments.

For they hated wisdom, and did not choose the word of the Lord:

But they that sin against me act wickedly against their own souls, and they that hate me love death.

Thus says the Lord to the eunuchs: as many as shall keep My Sabbaths, and choose the things which I take pleasure in, and take hold of My covenant;

But one [thing] is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

And I will give them another way, and another heart, to fear Me continually, and [that] for good to them and their children after them.

"For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
