then you shall arise and go up to the place which the Lord your God shall choose, and you shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days, and they shall search out [the matter] and report the judgment to you.

And the priests, the Levites, shall come near, because the Lord God has chosen them to stand by Him, and to bless in His name, and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be [decided].

For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty.

saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat.

Therefore whatever they may say to you to observe, observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.
