and [that] Jacob listened to his father and his mother, and went to Mesopotamia of Syria.

And Israel said to Joseph, Do not your brothers feed their flock in Shechem? Come, I will send you to them; and he said to him, Behold, I [am here].

Let everyone of you reverence his father and his mother; and you shall keep My Sabbaths: I [am] the Lord your God.

And if any man has a disobedient and contentious son, who hearkens not to the voice of his father and the voice of his mother, and they should correct him, and he should not hearken to them;

Now Esther had not revealed her relatives; for so Mordecai commanded her, to fear God, and perform His commandments, as when she was with him: and Esther changed not her manner of life.

Hear, my son, the instruction of your father, and reject not the rules of your mother.

[My] son, keep the laws of your father, and do not reject the ordinances of your mother:

Listen, [my] son, to your father which begot you, and despise not [your mother] because she has grown old.

A wicked generation curse their father, and do not bless their mother.

The eye that laughs to scorn a father, and dishonors the old age of a mother, let the ravens of the valleys pick it out, and let the young eagles devour it.

The sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have kept the word which he commanded his children, that they should drink no wine; and they have not drunk; but I spoke to you early, and you would not listen.

Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And His mother kept all these things in her heart.

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing in the Lord.

Bondservants, obey your masters according to the flesh in all things, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

Slaves, obey your masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in simplicity of heart, as to Christ;

not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God wholeheartedly,

so that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and you may stand by her in whatever thing she may need from you; for indeed she has proved to be a helper of many and of myself also.

So then, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

And whatever you may do in word or deed, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

And whatever you may do, work [it] from your soul, as to the Lord and not to men,

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

Therefore subject yourselves to every human institution on account of the Lord: whether to the king as [to one] having authority,

Also You came down upon Mount Sinai, and You spoke to them out of heaven, and gave them right judgments, and laws of truth, ordinances, and good commandments.

Even then a man shall blame himself, saying, What kind of things have I done? And He has not punished me according to the full amount of my sins.

The ordinances of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is bright, enlightening the eyes.

I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are righteousness, and [that] You in truthfulness have afflicted me.

Therefore I directed myself [according] to all Your commandments; I have hated every unjust way.

Who is wise, and will understand these things? Or prudent, and will know them? For the ways of the Lord are straight, and the righteous shall walk in them; but the ungodly shall fall therein.

Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy and righteous and good.

And do not fashion yourselves after this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

But if a certain widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety to their own household and to make repayment to their parents; for this is acceptable before God.
